Little Red Riding Hood is a classic children's folktale first recorded in writing by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm in 1812. Since then there have been many different versions of the same story. Folktales are stories that are handed down from generation to generation. The story changes each time it is retold, because each storyteller tells the story his or her own way.
